HJK vs Aberdeen Predictions

Picking a winner in this Conference League dead rubber is something of a thankless task. Instead, I´m turning to the goal markets for Thursday´s matchup in Helsinki.

Given both teams´s recent defensive issues, I´m taking BTTS as my only selection at Bolt Arena.

Aberdeen and HJK played out an entertaining and competitive 1-1 draw in their only previous contest in Scotland last month.

HJK secured the Finnish title on a dramatic final day of the season despite a 2-1 defeat against rivals KUPS. Toni Korkeakunnas's men made it three Veikkausliiga title triumphs in a row after avoiding a three-goal defeat that would have handed the title to KUPS.

Five games without a win, HJK have lost their last four matches, including a heavy 6-0 reversal in their previous Conference League assignment at Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday four.

The Finns sit bottom of Group G with just one point collected from four games played.

HJK Team News

Head coach Korkeakunnas has a fit and fresh squad to choose from for HJK´s final home match of the season. The Finnish champions have not played since a 1-0 home reversal against Eintracht Frankfurt three weeks ago.

Serbian forward Bojan Radulović is set to lead the HJK attack. The 23-year-old has bagged an impressive tally of eight goals in his last ten appearances.

Aberdeen Form

Aberdeen make the trip to Finland after picking up an ultimately frustrating draw against Rangers on Sunday. The Dons had led for much of the game before conceding a stoppage-time penalty that would cost them a precious three points.

Still ninth in the Scottish Premiership, Aberdeen have won only two of their last eight matches across all competitions since a 1-1 draw against HJK at Pittodrie last month.

Third in Conference League Group G, the Dons earned a creditable 2-2 draw at PAOK three weeks ago.

Aberdeen picked up no new injury issues after their weekend draw with Rangers. Barry Robson is expected to have a fully fit squad to choose from for Thursday´s trip to Finland.

Bojan Miovksi should continue to lead the Dons' attack after he scored a fine opener against Rangers. The North Macedonian forward has scored two goals in the Conference League this season, including the equaliser in the reverse meeting between these sides.

With only pride to play for, we should see an open contest with plenty of chances at both ends.

Both teams have struggled for clean sheets in recent weeks, so I´m on BTTS as my sole selection for Thursday´s Conference League match.
