Legia Warsaw vs Molde Preview

Both sides were had plenty of high-scoring affairs on the European scene this season. The first clash in Norway ended with five goals total, so I expect to see another shootout on Thursday with BTTS & over 2.5 being the best bet.

  • Legia Warsaw have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 13 matches (Conference League).
  • Molde have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 13 of their last 16 matches.
  • Molde beat Legia Warsaw last week 3-2.

Head to Head

This is going to be the fourth match between Molde and Legia Warsaw.

The first two ended without a winner in the UCL qualifiers 2013, while Molde won 3-2 last week in Norway.

Legia Warsaw Form

Legia Warsaw had an awful start to last week’s first match against Molde, conceding three goals inside first 20 minutes. They recovered in the second half though with Josue and Raphael Augustyniak finding the net.

The Polish side advanced to the Conference League playoffs as 2nd placed team from Group E having four victories and two defeats. They were one point behind Aston Villa and way ahead of AZ Alkmaar and Zrinjski Mostar.

Legia’s struggles in the Polish Ekstraklasa continued last weekend, winning just one point in their home match against Puszcza 1-1 with Maciej Rosolek scoring a late equalizer. They are now 5th on the table with 36 points, five points behind the leaders Jagiellonia.

Legia Warsaw Injuries & Team News

Midfielders Ramil Mustafaev and Jurgen Celhaka are injured.

Molde Form

Molde caught their opponents by surprise and scored three quick goals in the first leg through Fredrik Gulbrandsen (x2) and Markus Kaasa. They ended the first duel with 1.78-1.06 expected goals, 50% possession and 12-15 shots.

The Blue Rascals underperformed in the UEFA Europa League group stages, won just seven points and ended as 3rd placed team in Group H behind Qarabag and Bayer Leverkusen. The main reason behind this result is poor defending, conceding two goals per contest.

They also had a disappointing season in the Norwegian Eliteserien, ending it as 5th in December but will still make an appearance on the European scene next season after beating Bodo/Glimt 1-0 in the cup finals.

Molde Injuries & Team News

Jacob Karlstrom and Emil Breivik are injured.

Both sides had plenty of high-scoring affairs in Europe this season. 13 of Molde’s last 16 matches across competitions have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals, so this is the best bet.
