PAOK vs Club Brugge Preview

PAOK didn’t show anything in the first tie, ending the match with just 0.10 expected goals. Club Brugge crushed the reigning Belgian champions 3-0 last weekend and I don’t see them losing in Greece.

  • PAOK are winless in their last 2 matches.
  • Club Brugge beat PAOK 1-0 last week.
  • Club Brugge are unbeaten in 6 of their last 7 matches.

Head to Head

This is going to be the 4th head to head match between PAOK and Club Brugge, the score is tied at 1-1 with 2 draws.

The first tie last week was won by Club Brugge 1-0.

PAOK Form

PAOK were very defensive in last week’s clash in Belgium, ending the match with 0.10-0.39 expected goals, 43% possession and had just one shot on target.
The squad from Thesaloniki barely avoided defeat in their most recent domestic appearance, a derby match against AEK Athens. They were down by two goals with just 30 minutes to go but got away with a 2-2 draw, Abdul Baba and Magomed Ozdoev finding the net.

The Double-Headed Eagles lost the first tie in the Conference League Round of 16 to Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in Croatia, but bounced back at home and earned a convincing 5-1 victory.

PAOK Injuries & Team News

William Troost-Ekong is injured.

Club Brugge Form

Club Brugge gained a 1-0 advantage in the first tie very early, Hugo Vetlesen hitting the target in the 6th minute, Ferran Jutgla making an assist.

They kept the momentum going last weekend in the Belgium First Division A, crushing the reigning champions Antwerp 3-0 at home, Raphael Oneydika, Michal Skoras and Philip Zinckernagel finding the net.

Club Brugge had outstanding results in the Conference League group stages, ending this phase with 16 points (five wins, one draw) ahead of Bodo/Glimt, Besiktas and Lugano.

The Blue and Blacks lost the first tie in the playoffs action against Molde 2-1 in the previous round, but bounced back at home, beating the opposition 3-0 Adreas Skov Olsen scoring a brace, Michal Skoras also getting on the scoresheet.

Club Brugge Injuries & Team News

Simon Mignolet, Denis Odoi, Andreas Skov Olsen and Casper Nielsen are injured.

Brandom Mechele, Raphael Oneydika, Maxim De Cuyper and Igor Thiago are suspended.

Club Brugge are in red-hot form right now, claiming back to back wins against Anderlecht, PAOK and Antwerp. I don’t see them losing the second tie in Greece, so a double chance is the best bet.
