Vitoria de Guimaraes Form
Guimaraes are unbeaten in seven matches, three of those coming at home where they didn’t concede a goal. They beat Casa Pia 1-0 in their previous game at Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques.
The Conquerors earned a 2-2 draw at Real Betis in the Conference League last week. They equalised twice through João Mendes and Nélson Oliveira, ending the contest with 53% possession.
Luis Freire’s side returned to the Primeira Liga with a 2-1 win at Boavista. They fell behind on the stroke of half-time, equalising through an own goal before a late Tiago Silva penalty secured three points.
Real Betis Form
Real Betis are unbeaten in their previous four matches. They won 2-1 at Getafe, Isco scoring both goals to start a great run of form.
Isco assisted Johnny Cardoso before converting a second half penalty to secure a 2-1 win against Real Madrid. Cedric Bakambu and Isco put them ahead twice against Vitoria de Guimaraes in the Conference League last week, pegged back twice in a 2-2 draw.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side got back to La Liga action with a 1-0 win against Las Palmas. Diego Llorente started and scored after the visitors had been reduced to 10 men.
Injuries & Team News
Guimaraes remain without injured right-back Bruno Gaspar and striker Gustavo Silva.
Expect Mikel Villanueva, Hevertton Santos, Tiago Silva, Umaro Embalo and Nelson Oliveira to return to the starting side.
Real Betis are without the injured William Carvalho and suspended Giovani Lo Celso. Pellegrini has some tough decisions to make with Sergi Altimira and Cedric Bakambu in line to start.
Verdict
Real Betis gave up two leads in the first leg as Vitoria de Guimaraes came away from Spain with a 2-2 draw. The Portuguese club will have plenty of support here and can win at big odds.
