They were victorious in their first UEL appearance in January, beating Anderlecht 2-0 at home, but then suffered a 3-1 defeat in Spain to Athletic Bilbao.

Viktoria Plzen are currently sitting in 2nd place in the Czech Liga, ten points behind Slavia Prague. Their recent form has been inconsistent though, losing 2-1 to Sigma Olomouc in the February premiere, but bounced back last weekend with a 3-2 win over Slovan Liberec, Svetozar Markovic scoring the winning goal in 85th minute.
