Jablonec and Celtic have never faced each other in a competitive fixture.
Jablonec lost one of their four pre-season friendless before starting their Czech Premier League season with a 1-0 home victory over Baník Ostrava.
Jablonec lost 3-0 away at Mladá Boleslav last time out. Petr Rada’s side struggled against Mladá Boleslav and conceded two early goals. Jablonec improved in the second half before conceding a third late on.
It was just their second loss in their last eight matches in all competitions.
Jablonec finished third in the Czech Premier League last season to reach their fourth consecutive Europa League qualifying campaign.
Rada’s side had the second-best home form in the league during the 2020/21 season. They lost just two matches at the Chance Arena all season.
Jablonec Injuries & Team News
Full-back David Štěpánek was substituted in the first half with a knock against Mladá Boleslav. Michal Surzyn could replace Boleslav at right back.
Rada otherwise named an unchanged starting XI for Jablonec’s two Czech Liga fixtures. He is likely to stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation against Celtic.
Celtic’s poor early season continued on Saturday with a late 2-1 loss in their Scottish Premiership opener against Hearts.
The result followed elimination from the Champions League qualification stages after a 3-2 aggregate loss after extra time to FC Midtjylland.
Celtic were dominant against Hearts with 74% possession and 19 shots. Despite conceding early on, Ange Postecoglou’s side fought back into the match as Anthony Ralston equalised in the second period.
Liel Abada then had a goal disallowed for offside before Hearts scored the winner in the 89th minute.
The result extends Celtic’s winless run to six matches following a disappointing pre-season. The Glasgow side drew with Championship side Bristol City (0-0) before a 1-0 loss to Preston North End and a heavy 6-2 defeat against West Ham.
Celtic Injuries & Team News
Centre back Christopher Jullien, winger Mikey Johnston, and forward Karamoko Dembele are all ruled out through injury.
Midfielder Nir Bitton has served his one match suspension and will return to the squad.
Leigh Griffiths should also be back in contention after missing the last two matches through injury.
