PAOK vs Slavia Prague Preview

PAOK’s recent results in Greece have been disastrous, claiming just one point in last three outings. Slavia Prague are dominating the Czech top flight and I see value in backing them to win.

Stats

  • PAOK have lost 2 of their last 3 matches (Super League 1).
  • Slavia Prague have won 16 of their last 18 matches (Czech Liga).

Head To Head

This is going to be the third head to head match between these two sides.

PAOK won 1-0 at home in November 2022 (Europa League), but then lost 4-0 in the Czech Republic two weeks later.

Form

PAOK have hit a rough patch of form recently, failing to secure a single victory in their four domestic appearances in 2025.

After losing to Panathinaikos 2-1 in the Super League 1, the Double-Headed Eagles drawn at home against AEK Athens 1-1 in the Greek Cup which got them eliminated (2-1 on aggregate).

A couple of days after, they suffered a 2-1 shock defeat to Volos at home, followed by a goalless draw against Aris last weekend.

As for their Europa League campaign, Razvan Lucescu’s side is currently inside the playoff zone (22nd place), having collected seven points from six matches.

Slavia Prague are on a four-game losing run in the Europa League, suffering back to back defeats against Athletic Bilbao 1-0, Frankfurt 1-0, Fenerbahce 2-1 and most recently Anderlecht 2-1 in mid-December.

The Red and Whites are doing much better in the Czech Liga, leading the title race with 50 points from 19 matches, seven above 2nd placed Viktoria Plzen.

Team News

Andrija Zivkovic has been one of PAOK’s key players this season but won’t be available until March, recovering from a knee injury. Defender Omar Colley is ruled out due to a rib injury.

Slavia Prague’s winger Lukas Vorlicky won’t be back until the next season, recovering from a cruciate ligament injury. Defender Tomas Vlcen is also injured.

Predicted Starting Lineups

PAOK: Kotarski, Jonny, Michailidis, Kedziora, Baba, Camara, Ozdoev, Despodov, Konstantelias, Taison, Tissoudali

Slavia Prague: Kolar, Holes, Ogbu, Doudera, Boril, Zafeiris, Dorley, Diouf, Provod, Schranz, Chory

Verdict

Slavia Prague’s results in the UEL are far from ideal, but they claimed 16 wins in their last 18 league matches. PAOK are in awful form in Greece right now, so an away win is a value bet.
