Porto should have the upper hand in their UEFA Europa League clash against Rangers at the Estadio do Dragao. The Portuguese giants are on a five-match winning run at home but often struggle to keep clean sheets making this likely a high scoring duel.

Porto Form

Porto suffered a 2-0 defeat at Feyenoord last time out in the Europa League. It was a surprisingly poor display from the Portuguese team who struggled to cope with the Dutch team.

Sergio Conceicao’s men will be pleased to return to the Estadio do Dragao where they have won their last five matches across all competitions. They often struggle defensively in the Europa League and have conceded three goals in their two matches this season.

Porto News

Porto will be without Sergio Oliveira and Romario Baro, who are both sidelined with ankle injuries. Ze Luiz remains the top scorer for the hosts and could start in attack alongside Tiquinho who got both goals in a 2-1 win over Young Boys on the opening day.

Rangers Form

Rangers suffered a 2-1 defeat at Young Boys in their previous Europa League fixture. They took the lead through Alfredo Morelos but where ultimately undone by some poor defending.

The Scottish club have looked inconsistent in recent weeks having failed to win in two of their last three matches, including a 1-1 draw at Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday. They have a poor record on the road in the Europa League having claimed just two victories in their last 10 away matches.

Rangers News

Alfredo Morelos has nine goals in the Europa League this season, stretching back to the qualifiers and the striker should start in attack on Thursday. He should be joined by Seyi Ojo while Ryan Kent could also be handed a start after coming off the bench at Hearts on Sunday.

Porto vs Rangers Head to Head

There have been only two previous matches between Porto and Rangers with the Scottish club claiming a win and a draw during the group stage of the 2005-06 UEFA Champions League.

Porto vs Rangers Betting Odds

Five straight home wins mean Porto are favourites to claim the victory on Sunday at odds of 1.44 with a draw backed at 4.50 while Rangers are set at odds of 6.50 to triumph in Portugal. Neither team is particularly convincing in defence which places BTTS at odds of 1.91.

Over 2.5 goals is priced at 1.72 on bet365 which has been the outcome in four of Rangers' last six matches across all competitions.

Porto vs Rangers Match Up

Ze Luiz will be the one to watch for Porto having scored eight goals across all competitions this season. Tiquinho has scored twice in the Europa League and both men should combine well to  get the better of the Rangers defence.

The problem for Porto is a failure to keep things tight defensively, especially in the Europa League. Having conceded in their last five matches in the competition, they are likely to face a stiff test from Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos, who is looking to add to his nine Europa League goals.
