Thursday's Europa League quarter-final contest marks the first-ever encounter between Rangers and Athletic Bilbao.

Athletic Bilbao arrive in Glasgow after back-to-back goalless draws in La Liga over the past ten days. The Lions were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Osasuna before a scoreless stalemate at Villarreal on Sunday.

Unbeaten in five matches, Bilbao have struggled to turn draws into victories this year. Ernesto Valverde's side failed to win 13 of 19 games played in 2025.

Competing in the Europa League for the first time since 2018, the Lions have proven an entertaining team to watch on the continent. Twenty-four goals were scored across their last seven Europa League games. Five of those fixtures also saw both sides get on the scoresheet.

Head coach Valverde will be forced into at least one alteration to his side on Thursday. Yuri Berchiche is tipped to miss out after he was withdrawn in the first half of Sunday's draw at Villarreal.

Top scorer Oihan Sancet is also set for a recall after a second-half substitute appearance last weekend.
