England are backed to have too much quality for Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifier at Wembley Stadium. The Three Lions are one step from booking their place in next year’s tournament and having claimed a 5-1 victory in the reverse fixture, another comfortable win is on the cards.

England Form

England were in fine form in their previous fixture as they claimed a 6-0 victory over Bulgaria. Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling both scored braces while Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane also got on the score sheet.

The Three Lions are on the verge of qualifying for the 2020 European Championship and need just a point from their final two matches to secure a ticket. Gareth Southgate’s men have suffered just one defeat in Group A with a 5-0 victory over Czech Republic and a 5-1 thrashing of Montenegro among their results.

England’s qualifying campaign has been driven by Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling with both men combining for 16 goals.

England News

Midfielder James Maddison has been included in the squad while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Callum Hudson-Odoi have also been recalled. Ross Barkley has pulled out due to injury while winger Raheem Sterling has been axed after a training ground fight.

Montenegro Form

Montenegro suffered a 2-0 defeat against Kosovo in their previous qualifier in October. It was a below par performance as they barely offered any threat.

Faruk Hadzibegic's men are without a win in the qualifiers having suffered four defeats and three draws from seven matches. They have also struggled defensively with 15 goals conceded in the group, five of which came at home against England in the reverse fixture.

Montenegro News

Montenegro have also struggled in attack, scoring just three goals in the qualifiers with Stefan Mugosa getting two of them. The striker is once again expected to lead the line alongside Fatos Beciraj, who is without a goal in his last 19 international matches.

England vs Montenegro Head to Head

England have never lost to Montenegro with two wins and three draws from five previous matches. The Three Lions ran out 5-1 winners in the reverse fixture with Harry Kane getting one of the goals.

England vs Montenegro Betting Odds

England’s fine form on the qualifiers means they are short priced at 1.07 while Montenegro are valued at 26.00 for an unlikely upset with a draw set at odds of 11.00. England have seen over 3.5 goals in five of their last six matches and that outcome is tipped at 1.80 while a -3 handicap is offered at 2.50 at bet365.

Harry Kane’s tally of eight goals in the qualifiers means he is backed at 3.25 to score the first goal while Raheem Sterling is priced at 4.75 in the same market having also scored eight times.

England vs Montenegro Match Up

England have been excellent going forward in the qualifiers with Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling scoring eight goals each. With the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho also among the goals, the Three Lions should have to much for Montenegro.

Aside from their obvious defensive problems, Montenegro have also struggled in attack. Stefan Mugosa has just two goals in the qualifiers while Fatos Beciraj is currently on a 19-match goal drought for the national team.
