England are the new favourites to win Euro 2020 after dumping out Germany with a 2-0 win at Wembley.

The Germans have been the Three Lions’ Achilles heel in major international tournaments over the years, but not for the 2021 crop.

Wembley erupted on 75 minutes when Raheem Sterling drove at the defence, laid the ball off and then continued his run to slot home Luke Shaw’s cross.

There was a scare of the Manchester City man moments later as his poor pass let in Germany, only for Thomas Muller’s finishing touch to desert him.

England then punished him to spark scenes of wild celebration at Wembley.

Shaw stole the ball on the halfway line, drove forward and played in Jack Grealish whose pinpoint cross was headed home by Harry Kane.

The victory was England’s first win over Germany in a knockout tie for 55 years, and the bookies believe the Three Lions have made themselves favourites.

bet365 is now 2/1 that England go all the way and win Euro 2020 this summer, with Spain the 3/1 second-favourites after the 5-3 thriller with Croatia.

Italy are 4/1 after they needed penalties to see off Austria, while Belgium are 7/1 having knocked out holders Portugal.

Denmark are 10/1 after thrashing Wales 4-0, with Switzerland 22/1 following their shock penalty shootout win over world champions France.
