Head to Head
Spain have a 16-13 advantage against France with 7 draws in 36 matches.
They last met in the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League Final, France winning 2-1 thanks to Kylian Mbappé’s 80th minute strike.
Spain Form
Spain were the only team to win all three group games at Euro 2024 and did it without conceding a goal. They beat Croatia 3-0 with Alvaro Morata, Fabian Ruiz and Dani Carvajal scoring in the first half.
Luis de la Fuente’s side dominated Italy, winning 1-0 despite having 9-1 shots on target. Fuente rested his star players against Albania, Ferran Torres’ early goal securing a 1-0 victory.
La Roja fell behind early against Georgia in the Round of 16. They came home strong and ended with 35-4 shots, Rodri equalising before the break alongside second half goals to Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.
Spain were involved in a thrilling semi-final against Germany, getting through 2-1 in extra time. Dani Olmo opened the scoring, they conceded in the 89th minute before Mikel Merino’s dramatic 119th minute winner.

Pedri suffered a knee injury against Germany and is unlikely to feature against France, Dani Olmo set to start.
Robin Le Normand and Dani Carvajal are suspended which should see Nacho and Jesus Navas come into the back four.
Alvaro Morata has scored 36 goals in 78 appearances, Ferran Torres with 20 goals in 45 internationals.
France Form
France started Euro 2024 with a 1-0 win against Austria thanks to an own goal. Kylian Mbappé broke his nose in the victory and didn’t feature in a 0-0 draw against Netherlands.
Didier Deschamps’ side drew 1-1 against Poland in their final group game to surrender top spot. Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot before they conceded a late penalty.
Les Bleus got past Belgium 1-0 in the Round of 16. They had 19-5 shots but just two of those on target, an 85th minute own goal sending them through.
France went all the way against Portugal in the quarter-finals. It was a close game with clear cut chances hard to come by, winning the penalty shootout after converting all five spot kicks.
