Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
Spain have been in formidable form and are deserved favourites against Germany in the 2019 U21 European Championship Final. Spain U21 have scored nine goals in their last two matches, I think they have too much firepower for Germany U21 and there is value backing La Rojita at 2.00.
Spain U21 Form & Team News
Spain reached their second consecutive U21 European Championship Final despite losing their first match of the tournament. Dani Ceballos opened the scoring against Italy but La Rojita lost the match 3-1.
Manager Luis de la Fuente made three changes against Belgium U21, Dani Olmo putting Spain U21 ahead in the 6th minute and substitute Pablo Fornals scoring the winner in the 89th minute. They hit their stride in a 5-0 thrashing of Poland U21 to advance to the semi-finals.
Pablo Fornals made his first start of the competition and scored first with Mikel Oyarzabal, Fabián Ruiz, Dani Ceballos and substitute Borja Mayoral getting in on the act. Spain U21 fell behind against France U21 in the semis but turned on the gas and stormed to a 4-1 win.
Marc Roca equalised in the 28th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead from the penalty spot before the break and Dani Olmo broke French hearts in the 47th minute. Substitute Borja Mayoral put the result beyond doubt and Spain are looking good to avenge the defeat to Germany in the 2017 U21 Euro Final.
Luis de la Fuente has found a winning formula with Fabián Ruiz and Marc Roca in midfield, Pablo Fornals, Dani Ceballos, Dani Olmo and Mikel Oyarzabal in attack. Jesús Vallejo replaced Jorge Meré in central defence, Júnior Firpo came back into the side at left-back and conceded a penalty but showed his class in attack.
Spain U21 are favourites against Germany U21 and the 2.00 odds on offer is an appealing price. Form is on their side and they will be hard to stop in Udine.

Germany U21 Form & Team News
Germany began their U21 European Championship campaign with a 3-1 win against Denmark. Marco Richter scored the opening two goals and assisted Gian-Luca Waldschmidt who sealed the deal.
Germany U21 then beat Serbia U21 6-1 with Richter scoring first, Waldschmidt netting a hat-trick with Mahmoud Dahoud and Arne Maier getting in on the act. Manager Stefan Kuntz kept the starting side intact against Austria U21 that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Waldschmidt scored a long range strike but Germany U21 conceded their third penalty in three games that allowed Austria to equalise. Kuntz made two changes in the semi-final clash against Romania U21, Maximilian Mittelstädt replacing the suspended Benjamin Henrichs at left back and Nadiem Amiri coming in for Marco Richter.
Amiri repaid the managers faith by scoring first, but another penalty conceded and sloppy defence saw Romania 2-1 ahead at half time. Gian-Luca Waldschmidt equalised from the penalty spot and put Germany 3-2 up in the 90th minute before Amiri’s free kick made it 4-2 in added time.
Benjamin Henrichs could reclaim his starting spot at left back while it will be hard for Kuntz to leave Nadiem Amiri out of the starting side. With Spain’s strength in midfield, we could see Arne Maier come in for Florian Neuhaus.
Germany U21 are priced at 3.30 due to their inability to keep clean sheets. A draw can be backed at 3.30 which isn’t out of the question.
Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Head to Head
Spain U21 have a narrow 4-2 advantage over Germany U21 with one draw. The last encounter was in the 2017 UEFA U21 European Championship Final in Poland, Germany winning 1-0 with Mitchell Weiser scoring the winner.
Spain U21 vs Germany U21 Match Up
Spain U21 have many players contributing regular goals and assists. Manager Luis de la Fuente has made adjustments with his starting side and come up with a winning formula that are dominating games and scoring plenty of goals.
Germany U21 have not been convincing in their last two matches. They have plenty of ability, but it appears they are too reliant on Gian-Luca Waldschmidt for goals. The Freiburg striker has scored seven goals in four matches at the tournament, he will be a popular pick in the anytime and first goalscorer markets.
