Belgium can extend their winning run against Iceland in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday. Belgium have won 11 straight matches against Iceland and done it easy in most of them, a similar story is expectd in Brussels.

Belgium qualified for the European Championship in style, finishing top of Group I after winning all 10 matches. Roberto Martínez’s side won every match by 2+ goals, scoring 40 goals and conceding just three.

The Red Devils smashed Scotland 3-0 & 4-0, San Marino 4-0 & 9-0, Russia 4-1 and Cyprus 6-1. Belgium scored 3+ goals in seven of their last eight Euro qualifiers.

Belgium got off to a winning start in the new Nations League season with a 2-0 victory in Denmark. Jason Denayer scored an early goal with Dries Mertens wrapping it up in the 76th minute.

Defender Thomas Vermaelen was not selected due to the COVID-19 pandemic alongside forward Christian Benteke. 

Midfielder Nacer Chadli and striker Divock Origi were not called up and winger Yannick Carrasco has left the squad.

Midfielders Kevin De Bruyne is available after missing the Denmark game due to the birth of his child. Striker Michy Batshuayi is another option after completing 14 days of self-isolation.

Eden Hazard was an unused substitute in Denmark and could see limited minutes against Iceland.

Iceland failed to qualify automatically for Euro 2020 after finishing third in Group H. Erik Hamren's side won six of their 10 matches but finished H behind France and Turkey.

Iceland ended Euro 2020 qualifying with a 2-1 win in Moldova. They followed up with 1-0 friendly wins against Canada and El Salvador in January.

Hamren's side began the new Nations League campaign with a 1-0 home defeat to England. They played against 10 men for the final 20 minutes, conceding a penalty in the 91st minute.

Birkir Bjarnason had a great chance to equalise, firing a penalty over the bar with the last kick of the game. It was ultimately a deserved defeat after having 22% possession and 2-13 shots.

Iceland have now lost their last five UEFA Nations League matches, failing to score in five.

Premier League stars Gylfi Sigurdsson and Johann Berg Gudmundsson pulled out of the squad alongside Augsburg striker Alfred Finnbogason. 

Defenders Ragnar Sigurdsson, Kári Árnason, Birkir Már Sævarsson and midfielder Aron Gunnarsson were not called up. Strikers Kolbeinn Sigþórsson is another player missing.

Those seven players contribute for 690 international caps and 86 goals.

Central defence is a huge problem with Sverrir Ingason suspended and Kari Arnason injured. Goalkeeper Hannes Thór Halldórsson is unavailable.
