Bulgaria Form

Bulgaria last played when going down 1-0 at home to Belarus in a friendly in February. The result continued a miserable run of form that has seen Bulgaria win just one of their last 14 internationals.

The one win came in November last year when they won 1-0 against the Czech Republic in Sofia in the final match of Euro 2020 qualifying. You have to go back to October 2018 for their previous victory.

Coach Georgi Dermendzhiev has overseen the last three Bulgaria games for a record of one win and two defeats. Can he make it a winning start to the Nations League campaign for Bulgaria?

Five newcomers have been named in the Bulgaria squad with goalkeeper Martin Lukov, defenders Cicinho, Stanislav Rabotov and Plamen Galabov and midfielder Filip Krastev all under consideration for a debut.

Ireland have lost just one of their last 12 matches, a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland last October, but had drawn half of those fixtures. The run of results did include a 3-1 friendly win over Bulgaria in Dublin almost a year ago.
