Finland host Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League on Wednesday at Olympiastadion in Helsinki. The Republic are searching for a first win of the competition, while Finland have their eyes set on leaders Wales at the top of League B Group 4.

Finland Form

Finland have two wins and a defeat from their opening three games in the UEFA Nations League to sit in second spot, a point behind Wales.

Having lost their opening game 1-0 at home to Wales, Markku Kanerva's side have beaten Republic of Ireland 1-0 in Dublin courtesy of Fredrik Jensen's goal. Jenson was also on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win over Bulgaria on Sunday with Robert Taylor getting the other.

Before beating Bulgaria at home, Finland had suffered a heavy 5-1 friendly defeat in Poland on Thursday.

Finland Team News

Midfielder Fredrik Jensen was left on the bench against Bulgaria but is in line to return to the starting line-up. Teemu Pukki will again lead the attack for Finland.

Republic of Ireland Form

A 0-0 draw at home to Wales on Sunday leaves new Republic of Ireland coach Stephen Kenny still waiting for his first win as manager. His 10-man side held out Wales to keep their hopes of winning UEFA Nations League Group 4 alive, albeit they need a dramatic turnaround in form.

Republic started their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bulgaria with Shane Duffy equalising three minutes into injury time. Ireland then lost their 1-0 at home to Finland, before the goalless stalemate with Wales.

Before Sunday's draw with Wales, the Republic suffered heartbreak when losing on penalties in their European Championship play off match against Slovakia after a 0-0 draw.

It is now eight games without a win for the Republic of Ireland in competitive internationals.

Republic of Ireland Team News

James McClean is suspended after being sent off against Wales and David McGoldrick is ruled out with injury. Dara O'Shea, Ryan Manning, Jason Knight and Ronan Curtis have been drafted into the squad.
