Wales take on Finland in their opening game of UEFA Nations League B at Helsinki Olympic Stadium on Thursday. Wales are on a six-game unbeaten run and face a Finland side which earned promotion to League B.

Finland Form

Finland signed off Euro 2020 qualifying with a 2-1 defeat to Greece, but it was a dead rubber with qualification for the finals already assured. Markku Kanerva's side finished with six wins and four losses from a successful campaign.

The Finns won four of their five home games in Group J with only table-toppers Italy defeating them in Helsinki. Finland had also won three of four home games during their successful promotion from Nations League C in 2018.

Wales Form

Ryan Giggs' Wales side are on a six-game unbeaten run with back-to-back 2-0 wins over Azerbaijan and Hungary sealing qualification for Euro 2020 as they finished second behind Croatia in Group E.

Wales had also recorded wins over Azerbaijan at home and Belarus (friendly) as well as held Slovakia and Croatia to draws during their recent run of form. 

Away from home has been a bit more of a struggle with the victory in Azerbaijan the only win on the road in the last 23 months.

Liverpool full-back Neco Williams and Swansea defender Ben Cabango have been called up for the first time, while Hal Robson-Kanu is back three years after retiring from international football.

Manchester United youngster Dylan Levitt has again been called up, but is still awaiting his debut.

Chris Mepham, Joe Allen and Joe Rodon are all ruled out through injury.
