Die Mannschaft took a 3-0 half-time lead in Dortmund where Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala and Kleindienst scored. Italy got it back to 3-3 in added time but left their run too late in Dortmund.

Florian Wirtz put Julian Nagelsmann’s side ahead against Portugal in the semi-final on Wednesday. Germany conceded in the 63rd and 68th minutes and were second best for the rest of the contest.
