Hungary vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Preview

Both sides are in poor form recently, especially Bosnia & Herzegovina who lost three in a row under new coach Sergej Barbarez. Hungary deliver at home, so I will back them to bounce back on Tuesday and win.

Head to Head

Hungary have a 2-0 advantage against Bosnia & Herzegovina with 2 draws in 4 matches.

They last met in September 2007, the game being won by Hungary 1-0.

Hungary Form

Hungary suffered a heavy 5-0 loss against Germany in their UEFA Nations League opening match, having just 0.49 expected goals and one shot on target.

Marco Rossi’s side also had an awful start to Euro 2024, suffering back to back defeats to Switzerland 3-1 and Germany 2-0 in the group stages, Barnabas Varga being the sole scorer.

They did beat Scotland 1-0 in the third round, Kevin Csoboth finding the net in stoppage time but that wasn’t enough to advance.

The Dragons appointed Sergej Barbarez as the new head coach in June but his debut games were not great, losing to England 3-0 and Italy 1-0 in June.

They had just 0.70 expected goals in those two matches combined, firing three shots on target against Azzurri, none against the Three Lions.

Verdict

Bosnia & Herzegovina suffered seven consecutive losses across competitions. Hungary are fantastic at home so backing them to earn 7th straight win in Budapest is the best bet.
