Iceland had a difficult end to 2023 with just two wins from their final eight matches. Åge Hareide’s outfit improved in 2024 and have won four of their six games so far.

The Nordic nation were on a three-match winning run, beating Guatemala 1-0, Honduras 2-0 and Israel 4-1. A 2-1 loss to Ukraine followed before Iceland defeated England 1-0 at Wembley.

Hareide’s side lost their second June friendly 4-0 against the Netherlands. They were 1-0 down after 23 minutes, had just 3-22 shots and conceded three in the second half.
