Portugal and France meet in a game that could decider who finishes top of UEFA Nations League A Group 3 on Saturday. With both sides on 10 points from four games, a win at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon could go a long way to determining the group winners.

Portugal Form

Portugal won 4-1 against Croatia and 2-0 in Sweden in the opening round of UEFA Nations League fixtures as Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to make it 101 goals for his country.

Fernando Santos’ side drew 0-0 against Spain in a friendly before repeating the scoreline against France as the two sides settled for a point in Paris in the UEFA Nations League.

Portugal held onto top spot in the group courtesy of a 3-0 home win against Sweden days after the draw with France. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring with Diogo Jota bagging a brace.

Portugal warmed up for the visit of France by thumping Andorra 7-0 in a friendly on Wednesday night with Ronaldo taking his goals tally to 102 in 168 games.

Forwards Paulinho and Pedro Neto scored on their international debuts against Andorra, while Domingos Duarte also earned his first cap.

Despite nursing an ankle problem, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to start having featured as a half-time substitute against Andorra. Centre-back Pepe, however, is not in the squad due to injury.

A 7-1 friendly win over Ukraine led into the key clash with Portugal which ended 0-0 in Paris. Didier Deschamps' side returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory in Croatia thanks to goals from Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe.

Ahead of the trip to Lisbon to face Portugal, lacklustre France were beaten 2-0 at home by Finland in an international friendly on Wednesday and have some question marks to answer.
