Their two defeats came against Belgium, 3-1 on the road and 4-1 at home. Russia completed their campaign with a 5-0 win in San Marino.

Serbia failed to qualify for the UEFA European Championship, finishing third in Group B. Ljubisa Tumbakovic’s side finished three points behind Portugal and six points behind Ukraine.

The Eagles were undone by bad defending, conceding 17 goals in eight matches. Much of that was due to two heavy defeats, 5-0 in Ukraine and 4-2 at home against Portugal.

They enjoyed 3-1 and 3-2 wins against Luxembourg either side of a 2-1 win in Lithuania.

Serbia’s last match was a 2-2 home draw against Ukraine. An early Dusan Tadic penalty put them ahead, Aleksandar Mitrovic made it 2-1 in the 56th minute but they couldn’t hold on.

Verdict

Russia’s defeats to Belgium are the obvious concern here. Regardless, playing in Moscow with a squad dominated by Russian Premier League players, they should be too strong with value on a home win.
