Scotland host Israel at Hampden Park in the UEFA Nations League on Friday. The Scots ended their qualification campaign in style, while Israel continue to struggle on the road. Who will come out on top in Glasgow?

Scotland failed to qualify for the European Championship. They finished third in Group I, nine points behind Russia and 15 points behind Belgium.

Steve Clarke lost four of his first five matches in charge, all to Belgium and Russia before three straight wins. The first was a 6-0 demolition against San Marino, John McGinn with a first half hat-trick, Lawrence Shankland, Stuart Findlay and Stuart Armstrong wrapping it up.

Scotland won 2-1 in Cyprus with Ryan Christie and McGinn on target before a 3-1 win against Kazakhstan. They were 1-0 down at half time in Glasgow, but responded with two McGinn goals either side of a Steven Naismith strike.

Defenders Charlie Mulgrew and Grant Hanley are not in the squad. Midfielder Robert Snodgrass has retired, strikers Oli McBurnie and Steven Naismith were not selected. 

Midfielder John McGinn has been thriving in an attacking midfield role for Scotland, scoring six goals in his last three matches.

Israel failed to qualify for the European Championship, finishing fifth in Group G, 14 points behind Poland and 8 points behind Austria. They lost five of their 10 matches including four of the last five.

A 3-2 loss in Slovenia was followed by a 3-1 defeat in Austria. Israel won 3-1 against Latvia before falling 2-1 against Poland and 1-0 in North Macedonia.
