An entertaining Nations League contest is expected in Ljubljana this weekend.

Slovenia return to action after a heart-breaking elimination at Euro 2024 earlier this summer.

Unbeaten during the group phase following draws against Denmark, Serbia and England, Matjaž Kek's side bowed out of the competition after a penalty shootout defeat against Portugal in the round of sixteen.

A tough side to overcome, Slovenia are unbeaten in 23 of their last 25 internationals since June 2022, and in each of their last 11 home fixtures.

Austria return to action after an impressive display at Euro 2024. Ralph Rangnick's side topped Group D with entertaining wins against Poland (3-1) and Netherlands (3-2) before a 2-1 loss against Turkey confirmed their elimination at the round of sixteen stage.

The Burschen have become an attack-minded side under the former RB Leipzig and Manchester United boss. Rangnick's men scored an average of over two goals per game across their last 13 internationals.

A fine run of form on the road has seen Austria win five and draw two of their last seven away international fixtures.
