Switzerland Form

Switzerland qualified for the UEFA European Championship after finishing top of Group D. Vladimir Petkovic’s side finished one point ahead of Denmark and four points ahead of Republic of Ireland.

The Swiss reached the UEFA Nations League finals where they went down 3-1 to Portugal in the semi-finals. They rebounded with a penalty shootout victory against England in the 3rd place playoff.

Switzerland ended their Euro qualification campaign with three straight wins. They defeated Republic of Ireland 2-0 and Georgia 1-0 before a 6-1 win in Gibraltar.

Switzerland fell to a 2-1 defeat in Ukraine to begin the new Nations League season. Haris Seferovic equalised before half time, Ruben Vargas hit the woodwork but they couldn’t hold out.

Star player Xherdan Shaqiri is injured which is a big blow. Central midfielder Denis Zakaria is another player missing with injury.
