Turkey impressed at Euro 2024 and reached the quarter-final stage. It was a surprising performance given the nation were winless in five, losing three, before the competition.

The Crescent Stars beat Georgia 3-1 and Czechia 2-1 and lost 3-0 to Portugal in the Euros group stages. These results were followed by a 2-1 round of 16 win over Austria.

Vincenzo Montella’s outfit couldn't progress past the Netherlands, despite Samet Akaydin giving his side a first-half lead. Turkey eventually lost 2-1 after conceding two in the second half and allowing 60% possession.
