The 2018 U19 European Championship took place in Finland with 16 matches seeing a sizeable tally of 58 goals. Italy beat Portugal to top spot in Group A while Ukraine pipped France in Group B.
These teams made it through to the semifinals where Italy saw off France 2-0 and Portugal stormed past Ukraine 5-0. Buoyed by their success in the semis, Portugal then beat Italy 4-3 in the final.
Joao Filipe and Franciso Trincao shared the top scorers prize after the pair of Portugal starlets managed five goals apiece.

Matches for the UEFA Under 19 European Championship in 2019 will be hosted in three stadiums in Yerevan. The Vazgen Sargsyan Stadium is the biggest of the three with a capacity of 14,403 and will host the opening match and the final.
The other stadiums hosting the Under 19 European Championship will be Banants Stadium (4,860 capacity) and the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium (1,428 capacity).

Hosts Armenia were the only team to qualify automatically but the 54 other UEFA nations took place in the qualifying rounds. This started with the qualifying round in 2018 before the elite round in 2019.

Portugal are the reigning champions having won the last U19 European Championships by beating Italy 4-3 after extra time in the final.
Portugal began their tournament with a 3-1 win over Norway before losing 3-2 to Italy in their second group match. They were however able to recover with a 3-0 win over Finland before thrashing Ukraine 5-0 in the semis and gaining revenge on Italy in the final.
