Bookmakers are expecting tonight’s clash between England and Sweden to be the most bet on women’s football match ever.
A place in the final of the Women’s 2022 European Championship goes to the winner, so interest in the match will be huge.
As coverage has grown in recent years there are more eyes on the women’s game than ever before, and punters are reacting accordingly.
Tonight’s match, according to William Hill, could produce record turnover for a women’s game.
“With an incredible amount of people following the England Women’s team at the moment, we expect tonight’s semi-final with Sweden to be the most bet on women’s match in history,” William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny told FreeTips.com.
“As the odds suggest, it’s a very hard one to call but we do marginally fancy Sarina Wiegman’s side.”
England’s Women are Even-money to win tonight’s semi-final in 90 minutes, with a Sweden win 29/10 and the draw 9/4.
Meanwhile, some of England’s Euro 2022 heroes have already put themselves in the frame to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Beth Mead has been backed into 6/1 from 8/1, while Leah Williamson has been cut to 25/1 from 33/1.
