The DP World Tour players return to Europe to contest the Czech Masters in Prague. Who will claim the winners' cheque come Sunday?

Johannes Veerman returns to defend his title after his triumph last year.

Two-time D+D Real Czech Masters champion and world number 35 Thomas Pieters will headline this event.

These are our four selections for the title this weekend.

Thomas Pieters

Thomas Pieters won straight out of the starting gate in his first tournament of 2022, lifting the trophy at the Abu Dhabi Championship and placing T12 at the Dubai Desert Classic and T24 at the Saudi International.

The Belgian became inconsistent on the fairways after those performances with results of MC at the Genesis Invitational, T32 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, MC at the Players Championship, T26 at the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play, and MC at the Masters.

Pieters returned to form when he placed T9 at the Soudal Open, T71 at the PGA Championship, T10 at the Dutch Open, T27 at the US Open and lost in a playoff at the BMW Internationa Open to place sole runner-up.

His subsequent two tournament results were decent, finishing T37 at the Horizon Irish Open and T28 at the Open Championship.

The 30-year-old golfer has an outstanding record at the D+D Real Czech Masters. He won in 2015 and 2019, was runner-up in 2016, and placed T9 in 2018. His only two blemishes were MC in 2014 and T66 in 2017.

Pieters loves playing at the Albatross Golf Club in Prague and will fancy his chances in this field to capture another DP World Tour title and his third at this event.

Richard Mansell

Richard Mansell was in contention to win the ISPS Handa World Invitational this past weekend, placing an excellent T4 overall.

Before that, the Englishman finished T35 at the Ras al Khaimah Championship, T19 at the Dimension Data Pro-Am (Challenge Tour), MC, WD, and T30 at the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain.

Mansell bounced back to his best with top performances on the golf course, placing T26 at the Catalunya Championship, T8 at the Betfred British Masters, T23 at the Soudal Open, 9th at the Dutch Open, and T3 at the Porsche European Open.

The 27-year-old subsequent displays were poor to decent as he missed the cut at the US Open, finished T63 at the BMW International Open, T68 at the 150th Open Championship, T29 at the Cazoo Classic, MC at the Hero Open, and T20 at the Cazoo Open.

He finished T39 on his debut at this event in 2021.

Mansell can be challenging for the trophy come Sunday after his strong performance last weekend.

Paul Waring

Paul Waring did not have the best first half of the year, missing the cut five times in eight tournament starts, with his best results being T12 at the Qatar Masters, T63 at the Betfred British Masters and T37 at the Soudal Open.

The Englishman made good improvements in his subsequent five events, placing T9 at the Scandinavian Mixed, T26 at the BMW International Open, MC at the Horizon Irish Open, runner-up at the Cazoo Classic and T30 at the Hero Open.

The 37-year-old has finished T14 in 2014, MC in 2017, MC in 2018 and T30 in 2019 in his four starts at the D+D Real Czech Masters.

Waring has been more consistent on the golf course in recent months on the DP World Tour and can feature prominently in Prague this weekend.

Victor Dubuisson

Victor Dubuisson withdrew from his third tournament of the year at the recent Cazoo Open, but he has produced good results when he has played.

The 32-year-old placed T4 at the Abu Dhabi Championship, MC at the Dubai Desert Classic and T48 at the Soudal Open in his first three events.

The Frenchman withdrew from the BMW International and Horizon Irish Open before returning to the golf course with an excellent T11 place at the Cazoo Classic and T19 at the Hero Open.

He has featured twice at the D+D Real Czech Masters, finishing T27 in 2015 and T39 in 2019.

Dubuisson cannot be discounted at this event and has an opportunity to win his third DP World Tour title this weekend.

Verdict

Pieters is looking for his third D+D Czech Masters title this weekend.

Mansell offers an excellent each-way bet in Prague and could make the frame.

Waring has done well lately and has a chance to win.

Dubuisson is the long-shot pick at the Albatross Golf Resort and could cause an upset.
