The DP World Tour makes its annual stop in the Swiss Alps, where the players will compete for the Omega European Masters title. Who will lift the trophy come Sunday?

Rasmus Hojgaard is back at Crans-sur-Sierre to defend his title after victory in 2021.

Former Masters champion Danny Willett and Ryder Cup star Miguel Angel Jiminez are in the field.

These are our four selections that could win this weekend.

Ryan Fox

Ryan Fox is having his best year on the DP World Tour, producing consistent results, including winning his second career title.

The 35-year-old finished 61st at the Abu Dhabi Championship, T26 at the Dubai Desert Classic and missed the cut at the Ras al Khaimah Championship but bounced back with a victory at the Ras al Khaimah Classic.

The New Zealander maintained his level of play on the golf course, placing T15 at the ISPS Handa Championship, T9 at the Catalunya Championship, T8 at the Betfred British Masters, and T2 at the Soudal Open, 54th at the PGA Championship and T2 at the Dutch Open.

Fox struggled at the US Open, missing the cut, but regained his touch with a third place at the BMW International and runner-up at the Horizon Irish Open.

He misfired in his next two starts, finishing T47 at the Genesis Scottish Open, and he missed the cut at the 150th Open Championship before producing a decent T22 result at the Hero Open.

He has featured three times at Omega European Masters, placing T9 in 2017, T30 in 2018 and MC in 2019.

Fox has been the form golfer on the DP World Tour and will fancy his chances to win for the second time this year.

Adrian Meronk

Adrian Meronk has been in excellent form on the DP World Tour this year, producing many top finishes and capturing his maiden title.

Meronk placed T4 at the Dubai Desert Classic, T57 at the Ras al Khaimah Championship, T6 at the Ras al Khaimah Classic, T61 at the Kenya Open, and T28 at the Pecanwood Classic.

The Pole pushed hard in his subsequent tournaments to achieve his breakthrough victory on the DP World Tour, and he came close by placing T3 at the Qatar Masters, T3 at the Catalunya Championship, MC at the Betfred British Masters, 6th at the Soudal Open, and 3rd at the Dutch Open.

The 29-year-old missed the cut at the Porsche European Open but bounced back to form on the greens when he secured his first DP World Tour title at the Horizon Irish Open.

Meronk did not do well on the links courses, missing the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open and finishing T42 at the 150th Open Championship.

He finished T27 at the Omega Europan Masters last year.

Meronk has the form to win at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club and claim the second title of his career.

Romain Langasque

Romain Langasque has had five top ten places and three top 20 finishes in 17 tournaments on the DP World Tour in 2022.

The Frenchman finished T12 place at the Abu Dhabi Championship, T18 at the Dubai Desert Classic, MC at the Ras al Khaimah Championship, MC at the Ras al Khaimah Classic, and T9 at the Pecanwood Classic and T8 at the Steyn City Championship.

The 27-year-old's form became erratic, but he still produced some top performances by finishing T21 at the Qatar Masters, MC at the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain, MC at the Catalunya Championship, T8 at the Betfred British Masters, T31 at the Dutch Open and T40 at the Porche European Open.

Langasque regained his consistency and touch, placing T7 at the Scandinavian Mixed, T5 at the BMW International Open, T30 at the Horizon Irish Open, T46 at the Cazoo Open and T14 at the recent Hero Open.

He does not have the best record in this tournament, with results of MC in 2015, T7 in 2016, MC in 2017, T48 in 2019 and MC last year.

Langasque has been thereabouts most of the year, and if he can replicate the form he has shown of late, he will be in with a chance to lift another DP World Tour trophy this weekend.

Renato Paratore

Renato Paratore has struggled throughout 2022 to make the cut at tournaments on the DP World Tour, but he has found form and consistency in his last three starts.

The Italian was in poor form, making just one cut in his first 13 tournaments, finishing T40 at the Magical Kenya Open.

However, he has bounced back, finishing T58 at the Horizon Irish Open, MC at the Barbasol Championship, T3 at the Cazoo Open, T4 at the ISPA Handa Invitational and T13 at the D+D Real Czech Masters.

The 25-year-old has an impressive record at this event, finishing T24 in 2015, T7 in 2016, MC in 2017, MC in 2018, T12 in 2019 and T7 in 2021.

If Paratore can maintain his current level of play on the golf course, he can feature prominently in Switzerland.

Verdict

Fox should be in contention to claim the title in Switzerland as he has been ultra-consistent on the golf course in 2022.

Meronk achieved his maiden victory this season and has the game to win again.

Langasque has been playing well and could upstage the others at the Omega European Masters.

Paratore is holding form and is the long-shot value bet for this weekend in Switzerland.
