Greenbrier Classic Golf History

The Greenbrier Classic was founded in 2010 and replaced the long-standing Buick Open, which had been a permanent fixture on the PGA Tour since 1958.

Australia’s Stuart Appleby won the inaugural tournament by one stroke ahead of American Jeff Overton. The first seven editions of the event was called the Greenbrier Classic, before the tournament changed its name in 2018 to A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier. This was in honour of US military involvement at the Greenbrier site.

The Greenbrier Classic has been played every year since 2010 except for 2016 when the tournament was canelled due to heavy flooding. The 2019 tournament was regarded by the PGA Tour as part of the 2020 schedule.

Greenbrier Classic Golf Results

Take some time to research past results at the Greenbrier Classic to see which players have traditionally performed well at the tournament. This can help to influence your betting decisions before and during the 2019 tournament.

Researching past results is particularly important at an event like the Greenbrier Classic where the tournament is played on the same course every year. Players who have done well in the past are likely to perform well again as the course setup and conditions will be similar to previous editions.

Greenbrier Classic Golf Winners

Here is the complete list of past winners and runners-up at the Greenbrier Classic. American Kevin Na is the defending champion having won the 2018 tournament by five strokes from compatriot Kelly Kraft.
