An elite field of the world's best players returns to the Sahalee Country Club for the first time since 2016 to compete for the KPMG PGA Championship. Who will take home the winner's cheque in Washington this weekend?

Yin Ruoning is back to defend her title after a one-stroke victory over Yuka Saso in 2023.

Sahalee Country Club has played host to both the men's and women's PGA Championship, with Vijay Singh winning in 1998 and Brooke Henderson in 2016.

Past and present Major winners in the field for Thursday's tee-off include Allisen Corpuz, Minjee Lee, Yuka Saso, Jeongeun Lee, Ruoning Yin, Lilia Vu, Nelly Korda, Sei Young Kim, Hannah Green, Ashleigh Buhai, Anna Nordqvist, Sophia Popov, Hinako Shibuno, Danielle Kang, Celine Boutier, Lexi Thompson, and Brooke M. Henderson.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Nelly Korda

Nelly Korda produced a credible performance in her opening LPGA Tour event of the year, finishing T16 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions before finding red-hot form.

Korda secured five consecutive victories at the LPGA Drive On Championship, the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, the Ford Championship presented by KCC, the T-Mobile Match Play, and the Chevron Championship before placing T7 at the Cognizant Founders Cup, and winning the Mizuho America's Open.

Korda's form has dipped after that incredible run of results, missing back-to-back cuts at the U.S. Women's Open and the Meijer LPGA Classic last weekend.

The number one ranked golfer has made seven appearances at the KPMG PGA Championship, finishing T20 in 2017, T40 in 2018, T3 in 2019, WD in 2020, victory in 2021, T30 in 2022, and MC in 2023.

Nelly Korda has not been at her best lately; however, one cannot ignore her form on the golf course this season.

Atthaya Thitikul

Atthaya Thitikul has been in excellent form on the LPGA this season, placing 12th at the Chevron Championship, MC at the Cognizant, T7 at the Mizuho America's Open, T6 at the U.S. Women's Open, 4th at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, and T8 at the Meijer LPGA Classic.

Before that, Thitikul was playing equally as well towards the end of last year, finishing T2 at the Ascendant, T5 at the BMW Ladies Championship, 2nd at the Maybank Championship, T31 at the Annika Driven, and 5th at the CME Group Tour Championship.

The world's 11th-ranked golfer has attempted to win the KPMG PGA Championship twice, placing 4th in 2022 before missing the cut in 2023.

Atthaya Thitikul has gone close to winning in recent starts and will have a chance of victory at the Sahalee Country Club this weekend.

Ayaka Furue

Ayaka Furue had a solid start to her season on the LPGA Tour, finishing T4 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, T4 at the LPGA Drive On Championship, T42 at the Aramco Ladies International, and T23 at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Furue improved her performances on the golf course after those results, placing at the T8 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, 3rd at the Blue Bay LPGA, T27 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, T13 at the LPGA Ford Championship, T18 at the T-Mobile Match Play before finishing T50 at the Chevron Championship, and MC at the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup (JLPGA).

However, Furue did not take long to rediscover her touch again, placing T7 at the Mizuho America's Open, T6 at the U.S. Women's Open, T2 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, and T8 at the Meijer LPGA Classic last weekend.

The 24-year-old has featured twice at the KPMG Championship, missing the cut in 2022 and finishing T8 in 2023.

Ayaka Furue has been knocking hard lately and has the form to win in Washington this weekend.

Ruoning Yin

Ruoning Yin was in decent nick at the beginning of the season on the PGA Tour, finishing T19 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, T23 at the LPGA Drive Championship, T58 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T13 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, and 59 at the Blue Bay LPGA.

Ruoning has found consistency in her game lately, placing T8 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, T26 at the Ford Championship, T23 at the Chevron Championship, MC at the JM Eagle LA Championship, T4 at the Cognizant Founders Cup, W/D at the Mizuho Americas Open, and T12 at the U.S. Women's Open.

The 21-year-old has an excellent record at the KPMG PGA Championship, missing the cut on debut in 2022 before securing victory in 2023.

Ruoning Yin can secure victory at the Sahalee Country Club this weekend, as she has come into some solid form lately.

Verdict

Nelly Korda has lifted six trophies on the LPGA this season and has a chance to secure another Major if she can replicate those performances.

Atthaya Thitikul has been thereabouts this year and can convert her recent displays into a winning one in Washington.

Ayaka Furue has been ultra-consistent lately and will fancy her chances to lift the trophy at the Sahalee Country Club come Sunday.

Ruoning Yin is the defending champion and could surprise the others by recording back-to-back KPMG PGA Championship victories this weekend.
