The LIV Golf League and players return to Asia for the 2nd edition of the Invitational Series in Hong Kong. Who will lift the winning trophy at the Hong Kong Golf Club this weekend?

Abraham Ancer is back to defend his title after a playoff victory over Paul Casey and Cameron Smith in 2024.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson DeChambeau had a bright start to his season, placing 2nd at the International Series in India (Asian Tour) before finishing T6 in Riyadh and T18 in Adelaide in the LIV Golf League.

Other notable results achieved by DeChambeau last year include a T9 in Las Vegas, a 4th in Jeddah, a T6 in Hong Kong, a T7 in Miami, a T6 at the Masters, a 2nd at the PGA Championship, a T3 in Nashville, a 9th in Andalucia and a T11 in the United Kingdom.

The two-time U.S. Open champion finished T6 at the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series in Hong Kong in 2024.

DeChambeau has threatened to put in a winning performance lately and secure the title this weekend.

Brooks Koepka

Brooks Koepka has been an excellent touch on the LIV Golf Tour and DP World Tour in his last five tournaments, winning in Greenbrier and placing T6 in Chicago, T10 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T33 in Riyadh, and T7 in Adelaide.

Other prominent performances achieved by Koepka last year include finishing T5 in Mayakoba, T12 in Las Vegas, T12 in Jeddah, T9 in Adelaide, victory in Singapore, and T9 in Houston.

The five-time Major winner finished 28th overall at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational Series in Hong Kong.

Koepka has been playing well since the end of last season and can pocket the winner's cheque come Sunday.

Dean Burmester

Dean Burmester had a steady start to his season on the DP World Tour, finishing T28 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship before missing the cut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

Burmester rebounded quickly in the LIV Golf League, placing T4 in Riyadh and T12 in Adelaide before a T37 result at the South African Open Championship (DP World Tour) last weekend.

The 35-year-old South African placed T8 overall at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational Series in Hong Kong.

Burmester has been thereabouts lately and should enter calculations this weekend.

Tom McKibbin

Tom McKibbin had a fair start to his season on the DP World Tour, finishing 60th at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and T24 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship before placing T6 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

After switching to the LIV Golf Tour, McKibbin maintained his level of play, placing T15 in Riyadh and T7 in Adelaide.

McKibbin's other noteworthy results from last season include finishing 4th at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, T9 at the Jonsson Workwear Open, T7 at the ISPS Handa Championship, T8 at the European Open, 6th at the KLM Dutch Open, 2nd at the Italian Open, T10 at the Danish Golf Championship, T10 at the BMW PGA Championship and T10 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The Northern Irishman is debuting at the 2025 LIV Golf Invitational Series in Hong Kong this weekend.

McKibbin has finished inside the top ten in two of his last starts and could cause an upset victory this weekend.

Format

An invitational field of 54 golfers will feature at the tournament, with a total purse of $25 million up for grabs. $4 million will go to the winner, while the player coming in last will pocket $50,000.

The players will contest 54 holes instead of 72 for all the LIV Golf Invitational Series events.

A shotgun start will occur, where the players will tee off simultaneously from different holes.

A 13-four-man team (four players each and two wild-card players) format will run concurrent, with the top three teams earning prize money.

Verdict

LIV Golf Hong Kong

DeChambeau can convert his recent results into a winning performance in Hong Kong.

Koepka has the form to win his sixth LIV Golf Tour tournament this weekend.

Burmester is showing signs he is ready to produce a top result.

McKibbin is in solid form and offers excellent value at the Hong Kong Golf Club.
