Rory McIlroy continues to see plenty of supporter ahead of the PGA Championship, according to the bookmakers.

McIlroy has not won one of golf’s major tournaments since his success at this tournament 10 years ago, but he heads to Valhalla on the back of his first PGA Tour win of the year.

The Northern Irishman took the Wells Fargo Championship a week ago, and Coral punters are backing him to follow that up with another victory this week.

Following a flurry of support, McIlroy has been cut from 9/1 to 6/1 to win the PGA Championship.

As a result, only Scottie Scheffler is priced at shorter odds at this time, with the American considered the 7/2 favourite.

“We always see plenty of support for Rory in the majors,” Coral’s Lewis Knowles told FreeTips.com.

“Punters are seemingly even more bullish after his win in the Wells Fargo last week, and having been 9/1 for this before that victory, he’s now 6/1 to win a third PGA Championship this weekend.”
