A star-studded field of the world's elite golfers returns to Bay Hill to compete for the coveted Arnold Palmer Invitational title this weekend. Who will win the fourth Signature Event of the season come Sunday?

Scottie Scheffler is back at Bay Hill to defend his title after a five-stroke victory over Wyndham Clark in 2024.

Past and present major winners that will tee off on Thursday include Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Brian Harman, Wyndham Clark, Keegan Bradley, Jason Day, Matt Fitzpatrick, Lucas Glover, Shane Lowry, Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Adam Scott, Justin Rose and Justin Thomas.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Rory Mcllroy

Rory McIlroy has had an outstanding beginning to his season on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, placing T4 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T17 at the Genesis Invitational.

Before those performances, McIlroy was in fine fettle, finishing T2 at the BMW PGA Championship, T25 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T3 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and victory at the DP World Tour Championship.

The four-time Major champion has compiled an impressive record at Bay Hill, placing T11 in 2015, T27 in 2016, T4 in 2017, victory in 2018, T6 in 2019, T5 in 2020, T10 in 2021, T13 in 2022, T2 in 2023 and T21 in 2024.

McIlroy has a proven track record at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and can win the title this weekend.

Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa had an excellent beginning to his season on the PGA Tour, placing 2nd at the Sentry before finishing T17 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T17 at the Genesis Invitational.

Before that, Morikawa was thereabouts, finishing T24 at the Paris Olympics, T22 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T28 at the BMW Champions, 2nd at the Tour Championship and T54 at the ZOZO Championship.

The world's fifth-ranked golfer placed T9 at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational on debut before missing the cut in 2023 and 2024.

Morikawa has been showing signs he is ready to return to winning ways on the PGA Tour.

Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood has had a solid start to his season on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, placing T21 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T22 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T5 at the Genesis Invitational.

Before that, Fleetwood was in great touch, finishing T3 at the Open de France, 3rd at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T6 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and T16 at the DP World Tour Championship.

The 34-year-old has made eight appearances at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, placing T10 in 2017, T26 in 2018, T3 in 2019, MC in 2020, T10 in 2021, T20 in 2022, T61 in 2023 and MC in 2024.

Fleetwood has been knocking hard lately and can take home the winner's cheque in Orlando this weekend.

Russell Henley

Russell Henley has been playing well since the start of the new PGA Tour season, placing T30 at the Sentry, T10 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T5 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T39 at the Genesis Invitational and T6 at the Cognizant Classic last weekend.

The four-time PGA Tour winner has produced solid results in the last four starts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, finishing T45 in 2017, T13 in 2022, T53 in 2023 and T4 in 2024.

Henley has had three top-ten results this year and offers excellent value at Bay Hill.

Verdict

Arnold Palmer Invitational

McIlroy has been in great touch and has claims to win in his second Arnold Palmer Invitational this weekend.

Morikawa has posted solid results lately and can emerge as the winner at Bay Hill.

Fleetwood has done nothing wrong lately and can secure victory in Orlando this weekend.

Henley has come good and can feature prominently in Florida.
