An elite field of the world's best golfers returns to the Bahamas to compete in the 25th edition of the Hero World Challenge. Who will lift the winning trophy at the Albany Golf Club come Sunday?

Scottie Scheffler returns to defend his title after recording a three-stroke victory over Sepp Straka in 2023.

Past and present Major winners in the lineup include Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Justin Thomas, Keegan Bradley, and Jason Day.

Tiger Woods will not participate in this edition of the Hero World Challenge but will host the tournament.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Ludvig Aberg

Ludvig Aberg has been thereabouts on the PGA Tour lately, placing T18 at the Paris Olympics, T40 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T2 at the BMW Championship, 16th at the Tour Championship and T17 at the RSM Classic.

Other prominent performances achieved by Aberg this season include finishing T9 at the Farmers Insurance Open, 2nd at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, 8th at the Players Championship, T14 at the Valero Texas Open, 2nd at the Masters, T10 at the RBC Heritage, T5 at the Memorial Tournament, T12 at the U.S. Open and T4 at the Genesis Scottish Open.

The number five-ranked golfer is debuting at the Hero World Challenge this weekend.

Aberg looked good after his return from surgery in his previous start and will aim to cap off his year with a victory in the Bahamas.

Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas did not produce many fireworks on the PGA Tour during the latter of his season but has regained his touch in his last two starts, placing T14 at the Tour Championship and T2 at the ZOZO Championship.

Other notable results achieved by Thomas this year include finishing T3 at the American Express, T6 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T12 at the WM Phoenix Open, T12 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T5 at the RBC Heritage, T8 at the PGA Championship and T5 at the Travelers Championship.

The two-time Major winner has made six appearances at the Hero World Challenge, placing 11th in 2017, T12 in 2018, T5 in 2019, T5 in 2021, 5th in 2022 and 3rd in 2023.

Thomas appears to have turned the corner and will be challenging for the title at the Albany Golf Club come Sunday.

Russell Henley

Russell Henley has been in decent nick on the PGA Tour lately, placing 5th at the Open Championship, T30 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T22 at the BMW Championship and T4 at the Tour Championship.

Additional highlights from Henley's year include a T4 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T4 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a 4th at the Valero Texas Open, a T12 at the RBC Heritage and a T10 at the Wells Fargo Championship.

The four-time PGA Tour winner will debut at the 2024 Hero World Challenge.

Henley will fancy his chances to come out on top in the Bahamas, as he has produced excellent results this season.

Robert MacIntyre

Robert MacIntyre has been playing well on the DP World Tour since mid-September, placing T5 at the Amgen Irish Open, T12 at the BMW PGA Championship, T25 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T19 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and T7 at the DP World Tour Championship.

MacIntyre was in fine form on the PGA Tour earlier in the year, with results of T6 at the Mexico Open, T8 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T13 at the Myrtle Beach Classic, T8 at the PGA Championship, victory at the RBC Canadian Open, T16 at the Travelers Championship, victory at the Genesis Scottish Open and T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

The Scotsman is debuting at the Hero World Challenge this weekend.

MacIntyre has won twice this season and can add another title with a victory at the Albany Golf Club come Sunday.

Verdict

Hero World Challenge

Aberg has the game to win the Hero World Challenge title on debut.

Thomas has looked in better shape recently and can secure the winning trophy at the Albany Golf Club this weekend.

Henley has the form to record another PGA Tour victory this weekend.

MacIntyre could cause an upset victory in the Bahamas as he has been showing signs he is ready to win another tournament.
