Twenty-four of the world's premier golfers team in pairs to contest the QBE Shootout at the Tiburon Golf Club in Florida. Which team will lift the trophy come Sunday?

Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na have not returned to defend their title after their victory last year, as they have joined the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Three Major winners are in the lineup: Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson and Jason Day.

The teams will compete on the Gold course for this unofficial PGA Tour event.

The Format

The QBE Shootout is contested from Friday to Sunday, comprising two golfers per team.

Round one is the Scramble format. Each golfer drives off the tee, and then the team decides on the best shot of the two. Both players will then play their second shot from this position and so forth until the completion of the hole.

Round two is the Modified Alternate Shot format, where each golfer tees off, and then the team decides which golf shot is best. The golfer whose tee shot is not selected will play next, and the players will alternate until the completion of the hole.

Round three is Better Ball or Four-Ball, where both players hit their ball off the tee and will play their ball from where it lies. The team's score for each hole is the lower score between the two players.

Jason Day and Billy Horschel

Jason Day has found consistency in his last four tournaments on the PGA Tour, placing T8 at the Shriners Children's Open, T11 at the CJ Cup in South Carolina, T21 at the World Wide Technology Championship, T16 at the Houston Open before missing the cut at the RSM Classic.

The 35-year-old Australian won the QBE Shootout in 2014 when he partnered with Cameron Tringale and placed 4th with Marc Leishman in 2021.

Billy Horschel has been in excellent form lately, placing T21 at the Tour Championship, T9 at the BMW PGA Championship, T10 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T7 at the CJ Cup in South Carolina, T56 at the World Wide Technology Championship and T13 at the recent Hero World Challenge.

The 18th world-ranked golfer has a proven track record at this event finishing fourth in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2019 and placing second with Sam Burns in 2021.

Brian Harman and Sepp Straka

Brian Harman has gone close to winning in recent months by placing T6 at the Open Championship, T71, T3 at the FedEx St. Jude Invitational, T35 at the BMW Championship, T21 at the Tour Championship, T15 at the Shriners Children's Open, T23 at the CJ Cup in South Carolina, second at the World Wide Technology Championship and T2 at the RSM Classic.

The American has tasted success before at the QBE Shootout, winning the title with Patton Kizzirie in 2018 and placing 3rd with Pat Perez in 2017.

Sepp Straka performed well at the Hero World Challenge last weekend, placing T10 overall after a poor run of five results.

Before those performances, the Austrian placed second at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T28 at the BMW Championship, T7 at the Tour Championship and second at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He was also the winner of the Honda Classic in February.

The 29-year-old is making his debut at the QBE Shootout.

Steve Stricker and Cameron Young

Steve Stricker has been in superb form on the PGA Tour Champions, winning the Ally Challenge, the Sanford International, and the Constellation Furyk & Friends titles in his last four tournaments.

Other notable results include T2 at the Insperity Invitational, victory at the Regions Tradition, and second at the US Senior Open Championship and Bridgestone Seniors Players Championship.

The veteran golfer has won the QBE Shootout twice in his career, in 2009 with Jerry Kelly and in 2017 with Sean O'Hair. He also finished runner-up in 2016 and 3rd in 2010.

Cameron Young has been thereabouts in his last eight starts by placing second at the 150th Open Championship, T2 at the Rocket Morgage Classic, T31 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T23 at the BMW Championship, 19th at the Tour Championship, T53 at the ZOZO Championship, T23 at the CJ Cup in South Carolina and 3rd at the recent Hero World Challenge.

The world's number 17th-ranked golfer is making his first appearance at the QBE Shootout.

Trey Mullinax and Scott Stallings

Trey Mullinax captured the maiden tournament victory of his career on the PGA Tour at the Barbosal Championship in July and has played well in his subsequent eight tournaments.

The 30-year-old American finished T21 at the Open Championship, T37 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, T5 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T12 at the BMW Championship, MC, MC, 71st at the CJ Cup in South Carolina and T4 at the Houston Open.

Scott Stallings rediscovered his game at the end of June after the inconsistent first half of the year by placing T8 at the Travelers Championship, T4 at the John Deere Classic, T10 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, T13 at the Wyndham Championship, MC, second at the BMW Championship 29th at the Tour Championship and T13 at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

The American's subsequent three starts have been average, finishing T40 at the ZOZO Championship, T58 at the CJ Cup in South Carolina, and T54 at the RSM Classic.

Mullinax is making his debut at the QBE Shootout, whilst Stallings has featured once at this event, finishing 9th with Kenny Perry in 2011.
