Europe have been attracting support in the Ryder Cup betting, the bookmakers have revealed.

The finest players from the USA and Europe are set to collide later this month, with the Americans favourites to retain the bragging rights.

However, bookmaker Coral has seen plenty of support for Europe to win on home soil, and as a result Luke Donald’s team are now into 5/4, from 11-8.

The United States have not won a Ryder Cup on European soil since 1993, and although they boast a strong team on paper this year, history shows that home advantage will be a huge help to the European team.

“The Ryder Cup is extremely difficult to call this year,” Coral’s Lewis Knowles told FreeTips.com.

“Although the USA seemingly have the stronger team, history tells us it is incredibly hard to for the visitors to win on European soil.

“Europe have been the team attracting the majority of the support in recent days, and although the USA are still at the head of the market, we could have joint favourites by the time the tournament kicks off in a few weeks.”
