TPC River Highlands Course Layout
TPC River Highlands is a private golf club located in Cromwell, Connecticut, United States. It was founded in 1928 as Middletown Golf Club and redesigned to TPC standards by Pete Dye in 1984.
Since 1984 it has been the venue for the Travelers Championship, previously known as the Buick Championship and Greater Hartford Open.

Travelers Championship Golf History
The Travelers Championship was founded in 1952 as the Insurance City Open. It was renamed the Greater Hartford Open in 1967 and known by that name until 2003.
The tournament was played at Wethersfield Country Club until 1984 when it moved to the new TPC of Connecticut. In 1991 the course was redesigned with a completely new front nine holes and renamed the TPC at River Highlands.
In 2011 the Travelers Championship attracted 240,000 fans for the week and 70,000 fans on Sunday. In 2017 approximately 290,000 fans attended, the most since Travelers started hosting the tournament.
