Scottie Scheffler is set to start the US Open as the shortest priced favourite since Tiger Woods in his prime.

Scheffler has been in impressive form in 2024, maintaining his spot as the world number one, and is looking to claim his second Major crown of the year, having already won the Masters.

The 27-year-old has never won the US Open, but punters are confident about him breaking his duck this week.

As a result Coral make Scheffler the 11/4 favourite – the shortest priced favourite this tournament has seen since Woods in his heyday.

Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele are considered his biggest threats, but they are out at 10/1 to win the US Open.

“Scottie Scheffler’s consistency so far this year really has been incredible,” Coral’s Lewis Knowles told FreeTips.com.

“On top of his five wins so far this season, he’s only finished outside of the top 10 once in his 13 starts in 2024.

“He heads our betting for this week’s US Open at 11/4, and even at such a short price we are still seeing plenty of support for the Masters champion.”
