US Masters Betting Tips
Bryson DeChambeau (9.00)
DeChambeau has been in career-best form this year since returning from the coronavirus lockdown having bulked up. It was a decision that has paid handsome dividends for the American, who is now world number six.
DeChambeau won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in July by three shots, and then finished fourth in the USPGA Championship at TPC Harding Park. That was DeChambeau's first top-10 finish in a major.
He stepped up on that with a big-hitting display of dominance at Winged Foot as he won the US Open by six shots. DeChambeau's decision to take on the tough test, and the result saw him finish as the only player under par.
With similar tactics predicted at Augusta, where he plans not to hold back in his game, you simply have to have the tournament favourite on your side. A similar story to the US Open could be on the cards.
Expect DeChambeau to leave behind his best efforts at Augusta where he was 21st in 2016 as the lowest amateur, 38th in 2018 and 29th in 2019.
Patrick Reed (29.00)
Reed won his only major at Augusta in 2018 when winning the US Masters, and he returns to the venue as a value each-way selection.
The world number 11 was 13th in the US Open behind DeChambeau, falling away at Winged Foot after an impressive start. He followed that with a 14th placed finish in the Zozo Championship, and heads to Augusta in solid enough form.
Since golf returned, Reed notched up four top-10 finishes and was also 13th in the USPGA Championship. The American looks like each-way value this week at Augusta.
Marc Leishman (176.00)
In search of a triple-figure odds contender who could shock at a big price, Marc Leishman is the outsider to concentrate on.
The Australian has twice finished inside of the top 10 at Augusta in the US Masters. He was fourth in 2013 and ninth in 2018, and has also made the cut in the last three Masters.
Leishman missed the cut at the US Open in September after a disppointing second round, but has played well enough without threatening to win at the CJ Cup and Zozo Championship.
The return to Augusta might well bring out the best in him.
