Germany vs Denmark Predictions

Both of Denmark’s victories in the playoffs have been very close, winning by one goal. Germany are slightly underestimated in the finals, considering they lost just one match in the tournament, so I will back them to win in a +2.5 handicap.

Germany achieved fantastic results during the group stages, winning four and losing just one match to top Group A ahead of Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Croatia and Japan.

The only loss was registered in the third round against Croatia 31-26, while they started the tournament by beating Sweden 30-27 and Japan 37-26.

Germans were victorious against Spain 33-31 and Slovenia 36-29 in the last two rounds.

Despite being tagged as underdogs, Germany defeated tournament hosts France 35-34 in the quarterfinals in overtime, Renars Uscins ending the match with 14 goals.

They did something similar in the semifinal, pulling a big comeback against Spain to win the match 25-24.

Denmark Form

Denmark justified the role of big gold medal contenders by crushing all the opposition in Group A, winning all five games.

They opened the tournament with a convincing 37-29 victory against the hosts France, followed by a 30-27 win over Egypt.

The Danes were victorious in the remaining three games against Argentina 38-27, Hungary 28-25 and most recently Norway 32-25.

Denmark struggled in the quarterfinals against Sweden, getting away with a 32-31 victory, Simon Pytlick being man of the match with nine goals scored.

More drama and another close match were seen in the semifinal, beating Slovenia 31-30.

Germany eliminated France and Spain so far in the playoffs, which surely deserves more respect than a 2.5 goal line for the grand finals. Denmark struggled both in quarterfinal and semifinal, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see another close encounter.
