Szeged were far from securing a top-two finish in Group B, ending the first phase in 5th place with six wins, one draw, and seven defeats.
Their form in the elite division in 2025 has been poor, suffering a 27-26 loss to Zagreb and a 32-29 defeat to Nantes in February, though they managed a 29-29 draw against Barcelona later that month.
Szeged ended the group phase with a heavy 31-24 defeat against Magdeburg in Germany. However, they bounced back last weekend with a dominant 42-26 win over Csurgoi in the Hungarian top flight.
PSG Form
PSG missed out on a direct Champions League quarterfinal spot by just one point, finishing 4th in the group stage with the same record as Sporting and Fuchse Berlin (nine wins and six defeats).
They missed a huge opportunity at home in late February, losing 37-33 to group winners Veszprem but recovered with a 35-26 victory over Eurofarm Pelister in the final round.
PSG have also maintained their winning streak in the French Starligue 1, winning all three games in March against St Raphael (39-30), Nantes (34-28), and Ivry (41-28).
Verdict
Szeged struggled in the group phase, winning only three of their seven home games. They have also lost their last four head-to-head meetings with PSG, making an away win the best bet tonight.
