Sheer Rocks and Farhh To Shy also claimed ITV victories

Saturday's card at Ascot was headlined by the Victoria Cup, a historic handicap staged over seven furlongs. Despite a poor drawn down in stall two, Rebel Territory managed to run out an impressive winner for Jim Crowley and trainer Amanda Perrett, who could now point her top handicapper at the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The bookmakers were celebrating after the first two ITV races from Ascot on Saturday. 11/1 shot Sheer Rocks held on to win the opening 12-furlong handicap, before Tom Queally guided 20/1 outsider Farhh To Shy to victory in the Peroni Fillies Handicap.

Odds-on favourite Ocean Runner was turned over in the five-furlong novice stakes, which was won by James Tate's debutante Natural Force. John and Thady Gosden then got on the scoresheet as Cieren Fallon guided Maasai Mara to victory in the Carey Group Handicap.

The 10-furlong fillies handicap was won in good style by Sean Woods' Double March. A bad day for punters ended on a high, as the well-backed Coco Bear won the card-closing six-furlong handicap.
