A time-honoured race during the Australian Autumn Carnival, the Coolmore Classic has been won by many of Australia's best fillies and mare. This year, a quality field lines up at Rosehill for the $600,000 prize, which is headed by I Am Serious.

Punters have come for the Waller-trained mare and she will look to take the next step in her career against a red-hot field.

2020 Coolmore Classic Best Bet - I Am Serious @ 5.50

I Am Serious is a serious mare which has won eight of her 16 starts. The Waller-trained daughter of Choisir comes into this race having finished second in the Millie Fox Stakes behind White Moss and although upset on that occasion, it was the perfect hit out for this.

She has yet to be tested against the best opposition but she has been patiently handled and looks set to run a good race over the 1500m. Her ROI is positive for punters and the 5.50 on offer should only add to that statistic.

2020 Coolmore Classic Best Each Way - Alassio @ 13.00

Six-time winner Alassio continues to fly under the radar after winning at odds of 12.00 last start and 11.00 the start prior. She comes into this with consecutive wins under her belt and her biggest is the ability to lead throughout.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained runner lands on the speed and she typically gives a good kick at the top of the straight. That tactic could work in a race like this and we're expecting another tidy effort.

13.00 is too good to pass up.

2020 Coolmore Classic Best Roughie - Pohutakawa @ 13.00

Another runner over the odds and she was desperately unlucky when running fifth in the Group 1 Surround Stakes behind Nakeeta Jane (7.00) which has since run third in the Australian Guineas.

Trained by James Cummings, the three-year-old filly was trapped behind runners last start and she was clearly travelling nicely into the race. Not having a fair crack at them could be a good result for this race as she should be fresh coming into it.

We much prefer her chances than Nakeeta Jane, which will no doubt be tired after two tough runs.
