We take a look through the odds and the form for the final Grade One on day two of the Breeders' Cup before providing readers with our Breeders' Cup Classic tips.

The final major race of the Breeders' Cup is the Breeders' Cup Classic. Many of America's greatest dirt racers have scored in this lucrative Group One, and a brilliant line-up of stars will look to join the likes of Cigar, Tiznow and American Pharoah on the roll of honour.

Here are the latest odds, the form and our betting suggestions for the curtain-closer at the 2020 Breeders' Cup.

2020 Breeders' Cup Classic Favourite

Improbable has left some patchy three-year-old form firmly behind him in 2020. Having finished a close second on his reappearance, Bob Baffert's star has secured three Grade One wins. The most recent of those came at Santa Anita in September, where Drayden Van Dyke's mount beat Maximum Security to win the Awesome Again Stakes.

2020 Breeders' Cup Classic Form

Baffert trains three of the top four in the market, and including Maximum Security. Having won all of his last seven starts, Maximum Security was a long odds-on shot in the Awesome Again, but had no answer as Improbable secured an impressive win.

Tiz The Law follows Improbable in the betting, and will be looking to get back to winning ways having lost out to Authentic in the Kentucky Derby. Barclay Tagg's three-year-old has won the Florida Derby, the Belmont and the Travers Stakes this season, and will be out for revenge after that Classic defeat in September.

Authentic could be Bob Baffert's third runner in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Classic. Having defeated hot-favourite Tiz The Law in Kentucky, Authentic fell to a surprise defeat in the Preakness Stakes, as Swiss Skydiver held off Authentic to win by a neck.

Tom's D'Etat is the only horse to have beaten Improbable this season, having gotten the better of his rival on their first starts of the season in the Oaklawn Mile. Albert Stall's seven-year-old placed two-and-a-half lengths behind Improbable when they met in the Whitney Stakes, and could struggle in what is an incredibly deep race.

By My Standards split Improbable and Tom's D'Etat in the Whitney Stakes, and went on to secure an impressive Grade Two win at Churchill Downs during the Kentucky Derby meeting.

Woodward Handicap winner, Global Campaign is the last of the seasonal Grade One winners who could run in the Breeders' Cup Classic. William Mott has Tacticus entered in the field, while five-year-olds Higher Power and Title Ready could make an appearance.

2020 Breeders' Cup Classic Tips

Authentic only knows one way of running, and that's to go straight to the front and try to run the sting out of his rivals. That tactic worked a treat in the Kentucky Derby, where Tiz The Law simply couldn't get by him.

It wasn't as successful in the Travers Stakes, where Authentic lost the battle with Swiss Skydiver. She's been relegated to the Distaff, after connections decided that was a more winnable race, which doesn't really do much for Authentic's form. For me, the jury is out on both of the three-year-olds here.

Tom's D'Etat may be the oldest runners in the field, but his win in the Stephen Foster Stakes was mightly impressive, and he had little chance in the Whitney Stakes after that stumble coming out of the blocks.

If he was a little longer in the betting, then I would fancy an each-way wager on Tom's D'Etat. However, I would rather back IMPROBABLE at 5/2, than Tom's D'Etat at 7s, and he'll be my Breeders' Cup Classic tip.

Bob Baffert's charge beat Higher Power with ease in the Hollywood Gold Cup, and was too good for By My Standards and the unlucky Tom's D'Etat in the Whitney.

That disqualification after winning the Kentucky Derby aside, Maximum Security has only been beaten once in his career. Yet, he was made to look slow and pedestrian by Improbable, who flew home from the rear to win the Awesome Again Stakes by four-and-a-half-lengths.

Baffert's four-year-old has improved with each of his starts this season. Although he has won from the front, there's plenty of pace on here, so I expect Irad Ortiz Jnr to ride the favourite cold from stall eight, before relying on his electrfying turn-of-foot once again.

Verdict

If Tom's D'Etat was sitting on a double-figure price, then I would be hugely tempted to place an each-way wager. That being said, it's hard not to be impressed with Improbable. Bob Baffert's four-year-old swept Maximum Security aside in the Awesome Again Stakes, and he could be too good for his rivals on Saturday.
