Market Movers ahead of the return of racing
Bookmaker Ladbrokes has made some changes to the betting markets for the British Classics and Royal Ascot with horse racing moving a step closer to a return.
Market movers for the 2000 Guineas include the John Gosden-trained PALACE PIER, who is now 12/1 from 16/1, and ARIZONA, who has attracted support at odds of 14/1.
In the Investec Derby, MILITARY MARCH is now 10/1 (from 16/1) having been as big as 20/1 back in February.
Elsewhere, KING OF CHANGE is the new favourite for the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and is now 6/1 from 7/1 following money in support of his chances.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "With the Guineas still set to take place on the first weekend of June, there has been support for Palace Pier and Arizona. The former was considered John Gosden’s best two-year-old last year by all accounts and the vibes around him remain strong. With international horses allowed to run, punters have also shown interest in Aidan O’Brien’s Arizona.
"Military March’s reputation was on the up over the winter and in the last week, there has been renewed interest in him particularly for the Derby."
