Champagne Stakes Best Bet - King's Legacy

King's Legacy was purchased for $1.4 million at the 2019 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale and has won over $650,000 in five races. This colt won his first Group One race on April 4 at Randwick over 1400m, beating Prague by half a length in the Sires Produce Stakes.

The win followed a disappointing ninth placed finish in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill on March 21 when the track was unfavourable for making ground.
King's Legacy still appears to be improving compared to a large proportion of the opposition who are coming towards the end of their preparations. King's Legacy is the one to beat in the 2020 Champagne Stakes.

Champagne Stakes Value Bet - Holyfield

Trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace prepare Holyfield, the son of I Am Invincible and Group One winning miler Hurtle Myrtle. He has won three of four attempts in his first campaign.

Holyfield won a 2YO Maiden Plate at Newcastle on January 25 and followed up with victory in the Super Vobis 2YO Hcp at Sandown on February 19. His only failure came in the Group Two Sires Produce at Flemington on March 7 before bouncing back to the win the Group Three Schweppervescence at Rosehill on March 28.
Holyfield safely held off Untamed who went on to win the Fernhill Handicap at Randwick last week. Against a field that appears light on early speed, Holyfield can take up a leading position again and give a good showing in the Champagne Stakes.
