The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the feature race on Day 4 of the Cheltenham Festival. It's one of the most eagerly-awaited races on the National Hunt calendar and there could be an upset on the cards in 2020.

Thistlecrack has lost punters confidence but the 11-year-old could have won more grand win in him and the odds are appealing.

2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup Best Bet - Thistlecrack @ 12.00

Colin Tizzard lines up the 13-time rules race winner and although he's not at his best form that he showed in 2016, we think he's still got one good run left in him.

The son of Kayf Tara scored nine consecutive wins from November 2015 through to December 2016 and he established himself as one of the premier jumping thoroughbreds in the UK, but his form and has dipped since beating Cue Card at Kempton in December 2016.

He has raced only five times in two years and he hasn't won any of those starts, but there were encouraging signs last start when finishing second behind Clan Des Obeaux at Kempton in the King George VI Chase. The French runner had the measure of Thistlecrack on that occasion but he's good enough to turn the tables and there's value with his odds.

9.00 is a fair price and given the occasion, the old boy could rise up for bettors and land some good bets.

2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup Best Each Way - Might Bite @ 15.00

Might Bite is in a similar situation at Thistlecrack but he's another quality type that deserves respect. The 10-year-old is coming off a poor showing behind Clan Des Obeaux in the King George VI Chase but he is having a wind operation and that could be the answer.

His form prior to that was excellent, with wins in the Betway Bowl Chase at Aintree and a second-place finish in the 2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup behind race-rival Native River (5.50).

Punters will have to take a big risk betting on Might Bite, but his quality will take him a long way and having had previous experience in this race will help the Nicky Henderson-trained gelding.

2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup Best Roughie - Balko Des Flos @ 34.00

The French-trained runners should always garner respect in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Balko Des Flos has the ability to turn around some moderate performances in 2018 and come out firing in 2019.

He's a sprightly eight-year-old gelding which showed little in his last four runs during 2018 but he won the 2018 Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham last season and that has to count for something. He was good enough to beat the likes of Un De Sceaux at odds of 8/1 on that occasion and bettors are getting much better odds this time around.

Always room for a big upset in this race.

Best Bet: Thistlecrack - 9.00 @ bet365
Best Each Way: Might Bite - 11.00 @ bet365
