Two important Epsom trials took place at Chester on Wednesday. Aidan O'Brien's impressive record in the Cheshire Oaks continued as Savethelastdance blitzed her rivals, earning quotes of 6/4 for the 2023 Epsom Oaks.

Frankie Dettori then rode Arrest to an impressive victory in the Chester Vase. John and Thady Gosden's star was slashed for the Epsom Derby, with bet365 now listing Arrest as their 9/2 favourite.

Ryan Moore and Richard Hannon combined to win the opening Lily Agnes Stakes, where Ziggy's Phoenix held off Ziggy's Dream. William Buick and Geroge Boughey then combined to win the five-furlong handicap sprint with Danger Alert.

Radio Goo Goo made all to score in the Camden Pale Handicap. Tom Marquand rode Amleto to victory in the Deepbridge Maiden for Williams Haggas. Jim Boyle then claimed a rare winner at Chester when Hodler struck in the card-closing handicap.
